What is EPINS?
EPINS is a new direct debit payment function available at participating merchants' outlets. You can make payment for your purchases at these outlets via EPINS using your existing Maybank Platinum Debit Card, ATM Card, MasterCard Electronic ATM Card or Maybank Credit Card linked to a Savings or Current account. The transaction will be verified with the PIN number of your card.
Do I need to change my ATM card in order to enjoy EPINS payment service?
No. You can continue to use your existing ATM Card to make payments via EPINS. No change of card is required.
How do I know if the retail outlet accepts Maybank ATM Card for payment?
Lookout for the EPINS logo, which will be placed either at the entrance and/or near the cashier counters of the retail outlets.
What is the difference between EPINS and NETS? What should users look out for?
The most noticeable difference between EPINS and NETS is the logos. Retail outlets can display either one or both logos depending on their subscription. There is actually no difference in the payment mode for EPINS and NETS, except that they belong to different companies and use different terminals.
What is the transaction limit for payments via EPINS?
EPINS, like the AXS Station, is one form of Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sales (EFTPOS). The daily transaction limit for all EFTPOS payments, regardless of channel or merchant outlet, is S$3,000. For example, if you use your Maybank ATM card to make a bill payment of S$1,000 at the AXS Station, followed by a S$500 EPINS retail purchase at Cold Storage, you would have utilised S$1,500 of the S$3,000 daily limit.
Will there be any change in the daily cash withdrawal limit of my ATM card?
No, there will be no change as the daily cash withdrawal limit of S$3,000 is a separate limit from the daily Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sales (EFTPOS) payment limit. EPINS, like the AXS Station, is one form of EFTPOS.
Can I use a Malaysia issued Maybank ATM, MasterCard Electronic Debit or Maybank Credit Card linked to a Savings or Current account on EPINS?
No, you can only use Singapore issued cards.
Can I choose to debit from my Maybank Current account instead of my Maybank Savings account?
Yes, you can do so as the EPINS terminal allows a customer to choose the type of account to debit from at the point of sale. If a customer keys in the PIN without selecting the account type, payment will be debited from the default account.
How do I know if payment has been made?
You will see the word "APPROVED" at the end of the receipt.
