    • For Work Permit holders, your employer needs to be processing salary payment through Maybank
  • For young individuals below 16 years of age, the account may be opened in the name of the parent or legal guardian as a trust account
  • Available as a personal or joint account

Required documents

  • Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents – Singapore NRIC
  • Foreigners
    - Passport and Employment Pass or Work Permit; and
    - An original copy of the latest bank statement, utility or telecommunications bill with your residential address indicated

Fees and charges

  • Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents
    • S$2 monthly service fee; waived with a minimum average daily balance of S$1,000
  • Foreigners
    • S$5 monthly service fee; waived with a minimum average daily balance of S$1,000
    • For Work Permit holders (with accounts opened on or after 24 March 2014): a S$500 maintenance amount shall be held in the account and will not be available for withdrawal until the account is closed.

Deposit Insurance Scheme
Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$50,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Monies and deposits denominated in Singapore dollars under the CPF Investment Scheme and CPF Retirement Sum Scheme are aggregated and separately insured up to S$50,000 for each depositor per Scheme member. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.
