  1. What is a Prepaid Card?

    The Prepaid Card is a signature-based debit card that allows you to make payments at outlets displaying the MasterCard Electronic logo. You can deposit funds into your Card and spend up to the available balance on your Card.

  2. Is there a limit on the number of cards that I can hold/purchase?

    Yes, you may only hold/purchase a maximum of 20 cards at any one time.

    The Prepaid Card can be purchased at any of our 22 Branches in Singapore.

  4. Do I earn interest on the balance in my Prepaid Card?

    No, you do not earn interest on the available balance.

  5. Can I use my Prepaid Card to make purchases via the Internet, telephone or mail order?

    You can only make online purchases using your Prepaid Card, other than point of sales transactions. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds in your card before making the purchase. At 3-D Secure Merchant websites, you will be required to input a One-Time Authorisation Code, which will be sent via SMS to your mobile phone, or generated by your Security Token if you are currently using one.

  6. Can I use my Prepaid Card to withdraw cash from ATMs?

    Yes, you can if you are a registered Cardmember. To register your Prepaid Card, please submit a completed registration form along with a copy of your NRIC (Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents) or passport together with Employment Pass/Work Permit (Non-Singapore Permanent Residents and foreigners) in person at any of our 22 Branches in Singapore.

  7. How do I withdraw cash from ATMs in Singapore and overseas?

    For local cash withdrawal at Maybank ATMs in Singapore

    1. Insert your Prepaid Card
    2. Key in your PIN
    3. Select "Credit/Debit Card" option
    4. Select "Cash Withdrawal"
    5. Key in the withdrawal amount
    6. Retrieve your Card
    7. Take your money and receipt

    For local cash withdrawal at atm5 QBF shared ATM network

    1. Insert your Prepaid Card
    2. Key in your PIN
    3. Select "Savings" option
    4. Select "Cash Withdrawal"
    5. Key in the withdrawal amount
    6. Retrieve your Card
    7. Take your money and receipt

    For overseas cash withdrawal at any Maybank or MasterCard/Maestro/Cirrus ATMs

    1. Insert your Prepaid Card
    2. Key in your PIN
    3. Select "Savings" option
    4. Select "Cash Withdrawal"
    5. Key in the withdrawal amount
    6. Retrieve your Card
    7. Take your money and receipt.

  8. Where can I top up my Prepaid Card?

    You may top up your card at any Maybank Branch in Singapore with cash only; no cheques will be accepted. If you are a registered Cardmember, your card may also be topped up via Maybank 2u.com.sg (Online Banking), from a Maybank ATM via fund transfer from a deposit account, or at any AXS Station with your Maybank ATM card, ATM MCE or Credit Card linked to a savings/current account.

  9. How can I keep a record of my transactions?

    If you are a registered Cardmember, you can view your Prepaid Card statements via Maybank2u.com.sg.

    If you wish to receive printed statements instead, a service fee of S$2 will be levied each month. To obtain past copies of your statements, a S$5 service fee will be levied per month per statement.

  10. What is the maximum amount I can spend on my Prepaid Card per day?

    The maximum daily spending limit is set at default of S$500 or up to the available balance in your Prepaid Card, whichever is lower.

  11. What happens if my Prepaid Card gets lost or stolen?

    If you are not a registered Cardmember, you will have to bear all losses arising from the loss of the Card; Maybank will have no liability.

    If you are a registered Cardmember, please call 1800-MAYBANK (1800-629 2265) or (65) 6533 5229 (Overseas) to report the loss or theft of your Card immediately.

  12. Will my Prepaid Card expire?

    Yes, the Prepaid Card will be valid till the date specified on your Card. Upon expiry, the balance money in the Prepaid Card must be collected at of our 22 Branches in Singapore within 30 days, otherwise a S$2 service fee will be levied per month.

  13. How do I get a refund for the balance in my Prepaid Card Account?

    You may request for a refund of the monetary value remaining in the Card by submitting the completed refund form to Maybank. The refund form can be downloaded here; it can also be obtained from any Maybank Branch.

    Registered Cardmembers

    You may mail the completed refund form together with a photocopy of the identity card to us, or submit them at any Maybank Branch.

    Non-registered Cardmembers

    Please submit the form and present your identity card personally at any of our 22 Maybank Branches in Singapore.

  14. What are the modes of refund available?

    The monetary value remaining in the Card can be refunded through the following ways:

    • Transfer to a Maybank Savings/Current Account
    • Transfer to another MaybankPrepaid Card, Debit Card or Credit Card
    • Cashier's Order (Payable to the registered Cardmember only)

    A handling fee of S$5 (excluding GST) will be levied for each refund. The processing fee will be waived for the existing customer who transfers the refund to his/her own Maybank deposit /card account.
