SMS Transaction Alerts

With our SMS Transaction Alert, you will be informed via SMS when transactions equivalent to and above the default amount1, or your preferred threshold amount, are charged to your Card. With this service, you can be assured that any unauthorised transactions on your Card can be detected promptly. This service is available for Singapore registered mobile numbers only.

1The default amount for various Card types is as follows:

Credit CardsS$500 per local transaction or equivalent amount per overseas transaction
eVibesS$100 per local transaction or equivalent amount per overseas transaction
Debit CardsS$50 per local transaction or equivalent amount per overseas transaction

SMS Alerts service is only applicable to Maybank Credit and/or Debit Cardmembers.

One-time Authorisation Code for Online Purchases (Credit, Debit and registered Prepaid Cards)

You are required to authenticate online purchases at participating online 3-D Secure Merchants2, by entering a One-Time Authorisation Code, which will be sent to your mobile number. The Authorisation Code is required from the respective Principal/Main Cardmember, Supplementary/Joint Applicant Cardmember (where applicable) or registered Prepaid Cardmember making the online purchase. Please note that One-Time Authorisation code is also commonly known as One-Time Password (OTP).

23-D Secure (3DS) protocol is used by banks worldwide to authenticate online card transactions. You will recognise the participating online 3DS merchants by the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode logos. When making your purchases online, 3DS would prompt the Cardmember to enter an OTP or Authorisation Code to authenticate the transaction. If the Authorisation Code is correct, the purchase transaction will be processed and completed.

To ensure that you receive the Authorisation Codes, please simply complete the relevant fields in "Update of Customer Contact Details (PDF)" form and mail back to us for processing accordingly.

 

Issuance of EMV chip cards

We have completed replacing all MasterCard Credit and Debit Cards (without the EMV chip) issued in Singapore with EMV compliant chip cards in September 2011. Thereafter, all newly issued Visa and MasterCard Cards are embedded with EMV chips. With the EMV chip embedded, your Card is protected against fraudulent activities such as cloning of the data encoded on the magnetic stripe.Visa Credit Card embedded with EMV chip was first issued in year 2008.
