False message about Maybank ATM Machine


It has come to Maybank's knowledge that some members of the public are receiving false messages via social media and messaging platforms on matters related to transactions at Maybank ATMs. The message alleges that when a customer enters the right PIN number, a notice displays "invalid pin number" and a second attempt would prompt the customer to call a particular number. The message warns that if a customer calls the number, the customer will lose the money in his/her account.

Maybank would like to emphasise that this message is untrue, and that all its ATMs have stringent security measures.

Maybank takes a serious view of such malicious messages and advises anyone receiving it not to circulate it. Maybank would consider to take necessary actions against any person(s) who generate or propagate such malicious messages.
