Donations To Red Cross For Myanmar And China Available via Credit Card

Maybank will give 5X card loyalty points to encourage more acts of giving

Singapore, 16 May 2008 – Maybank is working with the Singapore Red Cross Society to facilitate donations by credit card.

Additionally, as a gesture to reward donors and encourage more acts of giving, Maybank will be awarding its customers 5 times the usual tr’eats Points. These are card loyalty points under an existing tr’eats programme. Customers may choose to accumulate these points in exchange for shopping and dining vouchers, or further donate them to charity under an ongoing Maybank donation drive for the iNSPIRE Fund. Details are available on Maybank’s website, www.maybank2u.com.sg.

Maybank’s website will also provide links to download the Red Cross credit card donation forms, which customers can fill up and fax to Red Cross directly.

“We are saddened by the great loss of lives and massive destruction that has hit both Myanmar and China. From our staff and customer appeals, we can see that there is an overwhelming surge of compassion for those affected by this tragedy,” said Ms Pollie Sim, Country Head, Maybank Singapore. “Through this exercise, we wish to do our part to show our appreciation for donors’ generosity and encourage more acts of giving from the community in Singapore.”
