Looking into Social Issues in a Connected World

Maybank has always been pro-family in its initiatives. In looking at modern-day pressures on the family and society, Maybank has identified the rise of technology as both a boon and a bane. Maybank Singapore has therefore chosen to work on social issues that arise from this.

In general, Maybank CSR initiatives will work towards :

• Promoting more interaction and bonding between the generations by incorporating technology into family activities
• Supporting initiatives that use technology to make lives better (education, communication, assistive technology for the handicapped)
• Bridging the digital divide
• Promoting the need to strike a balance between virtual and physical worlds (mainly through volunteerism and other community engagement initiatives)
